Arrival

Arriving by car, the most direct route from the south is by taking the A9 north from Inverness across the Kessock Bridge and then carry on to the Tore roundabout turning right onto the A832 which will take you to Cromarty. We are a 35 minute drive from the centre of Inverness

Arriving by air, coach and rail, you can pick up hire cars at any of these locations. We strongly advise that you book your hire car in advance. 

Inverness Airport

Inverness Airport is the air gateway for the Highlands and Islands of Scotland.

Inverness Airport will again offer direct access to mainland Europe in 2010 with an air link to Germany operated by Lufthansa. Flights are from Dusseldorf International Airport during the peak visitor season in June, July, August and September and will operate on Saturdays from 5th June to 11th September 2010.

The airport is located 9 miles east of the City of Inverness just off the main A96 trunk road.

Shops

There is a grocery store and bakery located within the town and only a short walk away.

Public Transport

Public transport is limited to a bus service to Inverness and Dingwall. We stronly recommend thay you have your own transport. Taxis are available on the Black Isle although there is no local provider in Cromarty.

Equipment

'1 The Byre' is equipped with all linen including sheets, duvets, towels and tea towels. If you need more, please let us know. The apartment inventory can be found in a folder in the kitchen area - you should check this upon your arrival, otherwise you may be charged at the end of your visit for missing or damaged articles.

Household

'1 The Byre' is equipped with a full range of cleaning materials and equipment. All bins are provided with bin liners and spares - if further supplies are required, please ask.

Damages

All breakages and spillages should be reported to us immediately. If something is spilled on upholstery, bedding or flooring, please let us know as soon as possible in order that we can avoid any lasting damage.

Smoking

Smoking is strictly prohibited.

Rubbish

Rubbish should be placed in the 'wheelie' bin provided. We will arrange for the bin to be emptied on a regular basis.

Telephone

There is a payphone located in the nearby Royal Hotel reception area.

Information

Local information is provided in a folder in the Lounge area. Please leave this on your departure for the benefit of other guests.

Departure

At the end of your stay we would be grateful if you could vacate '1 The Byre' by 10.00am. It may be possible to arrange a later departure by prior arrangement.
